We delighted to be welcoming Walter Herriot OBE, the new chair of the Enterprise from Innovation board of the Norwich Research Park. A job second in importance only to supporting Liverpool FC!
After a career at Barclays, Walter became the Managing Director of St John's Innovation Centre in Cambridge, building it into a successful centre with a national and international reputation. His new role in Norfolk involves working with EfI board members and all the organisations on the Norwich Research Park to help put in place the right support to enable it to capitalise on its research strengths, and increase business, enterprise and commercialisation capacity to stimulate the creation of 5000 new knowledge economy jobs by 2021.
Walter will talk about the new vision and strategy for achieving this goal, for assisting new entrepreneurs and existing businesses, and how to overcome the challenges faced by growing business. With a reputation for 'telling it like it is', this is bound to be an entertaining and hugely informative evening! He will also be unveiling the exciting new Virtual Enterprise Centre, to help businesses access expertise from across the NRP as it moves towards becoming a next generation science park.
