NAAME - New Anglia Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering
Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering Sector Group Announce First Event....
NAAME Quarterly Briefing event, Weds 14th March 2012.
We are very pleased to announce that the first NAAME Quarterly briefing event will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday 14th March at Hethel Engineering Centre.
The event will be a healthy mixture of informative speakers, important debate, networking and demonstrations, setting the scene for future NAAME activity and events.
This is a fantastic opportunity to show your support for the sector group and help shape their focus and activities, with the added bonus of gaining knowledge and support across a number of key business areas. Have your say on what you would like NAAME to focus on.
‘The economic crisis clearly has an impact on everyone but it remains crucial to focus on the future, develop and implement best practices, control costs whilst working hard to realise growth strategies and up-skill. NAAME's focused briefings aim to provide this necessary support'
Antony
‘The briefings provide a one stop shop for manufacturers to get up to date information on best practise and services available to help them improve their business. I hope that NAAME members will take advantage of this opportunity and express their views on future events and formats so that we can best meet their needs'
Tom

National Apprenticeship week'. 6th - 10th Feb 2012. How can you get involved?
6th February sees the start of the fifth annual apprenticeship week. This National Apprenticeship Service event seeks to:
- engage and persuade employers of the advantages of employing and supporting apprentices in their workplace.
- highlight the talent and skills of apprentices to employers and the wider public
- highlight the range of Apprenticeships available in different sectors and the progression routes available to potential apprentices
NAAME and the LEP is very pleased to support the apprenticeship week and calls upon businesses in the New Anglia region to get involved.
Richard Bridgman, Chair of Semta - East of England and MD of Warren Services is proposing that companies who have invested in apprentices, open their doors during the week to discuss the benefits apprenticeships to organisations who might be considering taking on apprentices. This will provide valuable, first-hand, knowledge of the rewards and the importance to the industry of providing a pipeline of skilled labour force to the sector. To date support has been received from Active Technologies and Milltech and it is hoped that media coverage will take place through a variety of media channels.
If you are a business that would like to be part of this event, whether that is to open your doors and talk about your experiences of apprenticeships or are a business that would like to find out more about the benefits, then please contact Richard Bridgman on 07798 666280, richard@warrenservices.co.uk
