Over the last five years there have been a number of exeptional students that have been assisted by the centre who have gone on to successful careers in engineering. Going forward we would like to officially recognise such students with the introduction of Hethel Fellows.

Training

Aim

Develop the engineers of the future through raising aspirations & levels of attainment working with both business & learning providers

Targets

• Provide career direction (eg Student Convention)
• Facilitate alternative learning environments (eg After School Clubs)
• Support learning providers in curriculum delivery (eg Diplomas, GCSE's)
• Deliver training to learners from school, college, university (eg NVQs ...)

Provide business demand driven training in:

• Technical
• Leadership & Management
• Competiveness

In 5 years HEC has:

• launched a Learning Skills Centre providing training in CNC, CAD, CAM, RP
• engaged with over 10000 students
• delivered over 7000 training man days

Nexus is an important new training and resource facility for all those involved in, or wishing to be part of, the engineering industry.

Nexus will provide training and learning opportunities for learners of all ages focussing on skills and knowledge required for the growing sectors of Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing.
