engineering consultancy: Phil Bacon

Phil Bacon, a Professional Engineer with marketing experience in Europe, has gained business and SME development across Europe with major corporate organisations, working in Germany for five years. For the last 20 years, his consultancy has provided support to SMEs to develop and manage technologies with project management experience and funding support. He provided this support across Europe for the Welsh Development Agency carrying out a number of pilot studies which became successful operations. He has provided project management teams for project analysis through to turnkey plant handover. He has been the assistant general manager for a UK oil refinery for six years. He has been involved as a founder Director of two companies which have developed Renewable Energy technologies - Solar Thermal through stainless steel heat pipes and a deep water Tidal Stream device that does not need foundations. These are now in the process of reaching the market.

Phil has worked closely with the EU technology Directorates running R&D funded projects in Automotive, Aeronautic and Sustainable/Environmental technologies for the last 15 years, project managing for both UK companies and for the EU, as their project representative. He has raised European teams and prepared successful proposals for more than 10 R&D projects, which have gained EU funding and as well as DTI, National Park and VC experience. He has experience of VC technical support and AIM.
