Real Advice for Region's Engineering and Manufacturing Firms
Manufacturing and engineering firms across the region are being offered the opportunity to get real, relevant advice from experienced businesspeople in a series of free forums designed to deliberately omit ‘theoretical textbook jargon’. Hethel Engineering Centre, near Wymondham in Norfolk, is hosting a series of ‘Real Advice Forums’ at which business leaders from successful companies within the region will give delegates the benefit of their experiences across a range of topics.
The first in a year-long programme of Real Advice Forums titled ‘Manufacturing in a global market’ takes place on 14 December. It will feature a number of insightful presentations from businesspeople who have successfully cracked an international business strategy, like Gordon Mussett, whose Loddon-based engineering firm recently opened facilities in Poland. Six subsequent events covering topics from management training to environmental issues will take place through 2008.
Following the presentations at each Real Advice Forum event, a Question Time session will invite the panel to address issues raised by attending delegates and those unable to attend who have submitted questions in advance.
Simon Coward, chief executive of Hethel Engineering Centre, explains: “There’s a great deal of generic information out there for businesses, but each company is unique and the freely available advice often doesn’t seem to fit the specific situation that a company finds itself in. The Real Advice Forums will bring together those who need help and advice with industry leaders from the region who have the benefit of hard-won experience in successfully overcoming particular business challenges.
It really is a unique and highly valuable opportunity and the series of events covers a variety of topics that are directly relevant to the vibrant manufacturing and engineering community in the East of England.”
The Real Advice Forums are free to attend but delegates must register their interest as places will be limited and allocated on a first come first served basis. More details are available at www.hethelcentre.com.
Hethel Engineering Centre opened in 2005 to provide a unique range of facilities to start-up and established engineering and manufacturing companies across the region. These include rental units, a training centre, business advice sources and leading-edge engineering facilities.
